With this product, I am convinced like someone with a cheapo frother and a kid had a good idea to make a kid version of the frother as a tornado machine. I'll take it. My kid loves this thing. It's easy to use and fun. We haven't even done a fraction of the experiments, and wete still getting a ton of mileage out of it. Good find, especially for summer STEM activities. Point off because the price point is a bit high for this.
Wow--what a fun science kit on mixtures/solutions! I got this to do with my grandchildren, ages 6-12. Three of them are homeschooled so my daughter was super excited to have electrical science experiments to do with the kids. The kit arrived on time and was exactly as described. The kit includes the Magic Mixer cup (which your child can be decorate with the included stickers), a printed experiment student workbook , and a teacher/parent guide. The only items that you need to provide are common household items: AAA batteries, small tray/baking sheet, sugar, lemon juice, paper towels, dish soap, milk, water, etc.The instructions are step-by-step and contain pictures, which will make it easy for the children to follow them. The student workbook also has questions throughout the experiment that the student needs to answer in the workbook, as well as a space for the student to draw pictures of what they witnessed,as well as follow-up questions. Some experiments include word wall words, that could be used for spelling words.I was a teacher for 38 years and I wish that the experiments in our science books had been this well organized. I can't wait to do these experiments with my grandchildren! If you are looking for STEM activities on mixtures to do with your children, I think you would be very pleased if you purchase this kit!
I have highschool level kids, when I got the item it says it's good for 4-8 year olds, not 14-18 year olds... You actually don't see that anywhere on the listing except one picture near the end and only if you look for it.I was hoping for something a little bit more inspired. It's a mixer. All of the experiments involve mixing things and there wasn't a lot of scientific explanation on what should be happening and why.If the seller does one thing, they should sell a classroom set of 25.
The magic mixer concept, creating fizzy layered drinks using density and color mixing, is simple enough for kids to follow but actually teaches real science principles. Instructions were clear, everything needed was included, and cleanup wasn't a nightmare. The fact that it covers density, emulsification, and cause-and-effect in a hands-on format makes it worth it over a toy that just sits on a shelf.
I got the STEM Magic Mixer® – Hands-On Science Learning System to enjoy with my grandkids, and I am so excited about the memories we’re going to make together. Some of my own favorite childhood memories are from simple crafts and projects my mom did with us — things we enjoyed so much we practically wore the book out! Now, my own children (who have kids of their own) still remember the things we did together when they were little — even things I had forgotten. That’s what makes something like this so special.Of course, this set teaches science concepts, but what really matters is the fun, interaction, and time spent together — those are the things that last for generations. The mixer itself is very kid-friendly. The clear cup allows kids to see exactly what’s happening during the experiments, which makes it even more engaging. The lid holds the mixing component securely in place, helping to keep things contained (with supervision, of course), experiments could get a little bubbly. The included book is easy to follow and very engaging for kids. It outlines the objective of each experiment, asks questions, and even includes space for kids to write their observations and draw what they see. I also appreciate that most of the ingredients are common household items or easy to find. With 30 different experiments included, there is plenty here to keep kids interested and learning — while having a great time.Honestly, I think I may enjoy doing these experiments with my grandkids even more than they will! 😊I give this an “A+ for Fun” and a big thumbs up for parents and grandparents looking to create meaningful, hands-on experiences with their kids. Totally worth it!
